NEOM Bay Airport
NEOM Bay began life as the modest Sharma airstrip and has been recast as the discreet executive doorway to Saudi Arabia's USD 500 billion giga-project. Upgraded for wide-body operations and international service in 2019, it currently handles NEOM's construction workforce, investors and early hospitality guests. The quieter sibling to the planned Red Sea International — which, when delivered, will take over mass tourist volumes and leave NEOM Bay as the region's private-aviation hub.
Separately, a brand-new Red Sea International Airport (RSI) by Foster + Partners is under construction near Amaala/The Red Sea, targeting 1 mppa from 2025 scaling to 6 mppa — budget envelope c. USD 2 bn within a wider c. USD 16 bn destination programme.
