C-UAS RF Detection, DF & Spectrum / EW Sensing
Passive radio-frequency sensors that detect, classify and direction-find drone and remote-control links, including wideband spectrum monitoring and SIGINT.
About this category
RF detection is the passive, always-listening first layer of a counter-drone system: wideband receivers scan the spectrum for the command-and-control and video-downlink signatures of commercial and military drones, then classify the make/model and direction-find both the drone and its pilot — without emitting. It is the cheapest, most regulation-friendly layer (no transmit licence needed) and the backbone of fixed-site protection at airports and oil facilities. The same hardware extends into spectrum monitoring, signal intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic-warfare sensing. Its blind spot is autonomous, RF-silent or fibre-tethered drones, which is why it is paired with radar. Buyers specify frequency coverage, library size, simultaneous-track count and pilot-locate range.
