Departure Control & Load Control (DCS · Weight & Balance)

The flight-handling software that processes a departure: a Departure Control System (DCS) checks in passengers, allocates seats, prints boarding passes and produces the passenger and baggage manifests, while weight-and-balance / load-control calculates the safe loading and centre-of-gravity sign-off for each aircraft. It includes local and hosted DCS for handlers who serve many airlines, boarding and gate-reader software, and the load-instruction reports the loadmaster works to. This is the regulated, safety-critical edge of airport operations software, distinct from the airport-wide operations database.
