What is IGHC?

IGHC is where IATA's ground-operations standards work — IGOM (the Ground Operations Manual), ISAGO audits, ground-damage reduction, turnaround data standards — meets the operating community that has to implement it.

Alongside the conference tracks sits a focused exhibition of GSE manufacturers, ground-ops software vendors and training providers, plus the one-to-one meeting programme that drives handler-airline contracting.

Dates, venue and format

The 39th IGHC runs 4–6 May 2027 at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium, following the Cairo 2026 edition hosted by EGYPTAIR.

  • Plenary + working-group sessions on IGOM, ISAGO, safety and automation
  • Exhibition floor for GSE and ground-ops technology vendors
  • One-to-one meeting scheduler for airline–handler–supplier matchmaking

Who attends

Airline ground-operations leadership, global and regional handling groups, airport operators, GSE manufacturers and ground-ops software vendors. GCC participation is consistent — dnata, Saudi Ground Services, Qatar Aviation Services and Oman SATS operate some of the world's busiest hubs and the 2026 edition ran in the MENA region (Cairo).

Why GCC procurement teams track this show

Ground-handling standards set at IGHC become contractual requirements in GCC handler RFPs, and the GSE/software vendors exhibiting there are the supply base for Gulf ramp operations.

Use IGHC for the standards-and-relationships layer, GSE Expo Europe (Lisbon, Sept 2026) for equipment-scale comparison, and Aviation Souk's GSE category to shortlist between events.

  • IGOM/ISAGO changes flow straight into GCC handling contracts
  • Turnaround-automation vendors here target the Gulf's hub-scale operations first
  • Madrid edition follows Cairo 2026 — MENA relationships carry over

Venue & logistics

  • Madrid Marriott Auditorium sits on the A-2 corridor near Barajas airport — closer to MAD than to the city centre
  • Conference-hotel format: most delegates stay in the venue hotel

Travel tips

  • Fly into Madrid-Barajas (MAD); the venue is a short taxi from terminals
  • Early May in Madrid is warm and dry — peak conference season
