The AL-xFlash is a heliport identification beacon designed to satisfy the ICAO Annex 14 Vol II requirement for a flashing white light that identifies a heliport from the air during night or reduced-visibility approaches. The beacon transmits the Morse code letter 'H' (four short flashes) — the internationally standardised signal that distinguishes heliports from other lit facilities in complex urban or industrial environments. At 390 mm diameter and 149 mm height the unit is compact for rooftop installation, and its asymmetric Fresnel optics deliver a powerful, directed beam over the required azimuth arc rather than wasting output in non-operational directions. Three intensity levels (3 %, 10 %, and 100 %) let operators match brightness to ambient conditions or comply with noise-abatement requirements at night, using the integrated dusk-to-dawn photosensor for automatic day/night switching. The IP68-rated quick-connect fitting allows tool-free cable termination in wet environments, a meaningful advantage during offshore installations or rapid replacements on exposed hospital rooftops. Internal electronics are managed by a microcontroller using industrial-grade components rated to 85 °C — covering the extreme ambient temperatures encountered on Gulf rooftops in summer. LED life is rated beyond 100,000 operating hours, and the unit draws 65 W. For GCC heliport operators — hospital groups across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar; offshore energy operators in the Gulf; and private helipad owners requiring GCAA or QCAA acceptance — the AL-xFlash provides a single compliant beacon with the operating temperature tolerance and IP protection needed for Gulf exposure conditions.
