The OBS X is a universal low-intensity obstruction light engineered to mark buildings, towers, cranes, wind turbines, and any structure presenting an aviation hazard within or near controlled airspace. Its defining feature is user-selectable output between ICAO Type A (10 cd, steady red) and Type B (32 cd, flashing red) in the same housing, eliminating the need to stock separate SKUs for different authority requirements or structure classifications. At 159 mm diameter and a power range of 3–10 W the OBS X is dimensionally compact and electrically efficient, suitable for both single-structure applications and large multi-unit arrays on tall buildings where aggregate power consumption matters. An integrated photosensor automates dusk-to-dawn switching, removing the need for external control panels on simple installations. A dedicated alarm relay continuously monitors both the LED array and power supply, providing a dry-contact fault signal to building-management or airfield-control systems — a feature increasingly demanded in GCC smart-building and airport-campus environments. The SafeBeam IR LED system adds an NVG-compatible infrared emission layer, making the OBS X relevant wherever military aviation operates near marked structures, including UAE and Saudi defence facilities. Optional GPS synchronisation allows large arrays of OBS X units to flash in coordinated phase — required by several national authorities for wind-farm and telecommunications tower marking to reduce visual clutter for pilots. Operating temperature is rated to 80 °C, covering the peak summer ambient conditions at GCC construction sites and industrial facilities. The IP68/69-rated Phoenix Contact quick-connect fitting allows outdoor installation and replacement in wet conditions without specialist tools.
