The Tactilon Dabat is a dual-mode field device that merges a complete TETRA handheld radio with an Android smartphone in a single ruggedised form factor. Voice communications run exclusively over TETRA for guaranteed mission-critical call quality and priority access, while the LTE radio handles data — video streaming, messaging, location sharing, and application data — across commercial 4G networks. The 4.7-inch touchscreen is operable with gloves, and the familiar PTT button, dedicated emergency button, and programmable side keys replicate the ergonomics of a professional radio while the device runs standard Android applications through a secured, policy-managed environment. IP65 and IP67 dust and waterproofing ratings make it serviceable across ramp environments, airside operations, and outdoor security roles in extreme climates. With a 4,600 mAh removable battery and an octa-core ARM processor, the device supports long operational shifts without compromising on processing headroom for situational-awareness apps, body-worn camera feeds, or custom airport-operations software. A 16 MP rear camera allows incident documentation and image sharing to TETRA talk groups directly. All data is encrypted and protected against cyber threats through the same security framework as the broader Airbus TETRA ecosystem.
