AMAC Aerospace's VVIP wide-body completion service covers the full engineering-to-delivery cycle for the largest ultra-long-range business jets in operation: the Boeing 777-300ER and 777-200LR, the BBJ 787-8 and 787-9, and the Airbus A350. Based at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse, AMAC dedicates two wide-body hangar bays solely to completion and refurbishment work, with a third handling concurrent maintenance, allowing multiple large-frame projects to proceed simultaneously without scheduling conflicts.

The scope of a VVIP wide-body completion encompasses full bespoke interior design and build-out — cabinetry, veneering, upholstery, composite panels, electrical and avionics modifications, mood-lighting systems, in-flight entertainment, communications upgrades, and custom monuments — executed entirely by in-house trades rather than sub-contracted workshops. Each project receives its own Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from EASA, and AMAC holds Design Organisation Approval (EASA.21J.414), Production Organisation Authorisation (FOCA CH.21.G.0015), and UAE GCAA DOA (DOA/123), allowing certification to proceed without dependency on a third-party design authority.

Typical wide-body completion programmes run from 18 to 30 months depending on configuration complexity. AMAC completed what EASA certified in December 2025 as the world's first VVIP-completed Airbus A350 — a first-of-type programme requiring new engineering solutions developed in close coordination with Airbus for all OEM interfaces. For GCC and broader Middle East clients — who represent a significant share of AMAC's wide-body customer base — the combination of EASA and GCAA approvals, an Arabic-speaking regional office in Saudi Arabia, and a track record of delivering to sovereign and royal operators makes this a primary choice for high-discretion programmes.

Use cases.

  • Green aircraft (green delivery direct from OEM) full interior build-out for sovereign, royal, or head-of-state operators
  • Nose-to-tail refurbishment of an existing VVIP wide-body to a new interior scheme and updated avionics / IFE / lighting standard
  • First-of-type completion programmes on new-generation platforms (e.g. A350) requiring OEM-coordinated STC development
  • Concurrent completion and heavy maintenance on the same aircraft within one facility, reducing total downtime
