Anera's system-integrator steel construction is a project-engineered structural platform purpose-built to support third-party equipment installations rather than personnel movement. In airport and baggage-handling contexts, this means the structural framework that carries conveyor lines, loop sorters, tilt-tray or cross-belt sorters, early-bag storage (EBS) racking, screening machine decks, and associated drives and controls — all of which sit on or hang from this steel skeleton. Unlike a standard mezzanine, the system-integrator structure is co-designed with the baggage-handling system (BHS) integrator: loads, attachment points, dynamic vibration profiles, and maintenance access corridors are all agreed before steel is cut. Anera has worked with system integrators since 2004 and has accumulated specific design knowledge for the high dynamic loads and vibration envelopes that sorter drives and conveyor motors generate — a critical constraint not shared by static-storage mezzanines. The reference case for airport deployment is the Bergen Airport (Avinor) new terminal in Norway, where Anera delivered the conveyor and sorter support construction: a hybrid structure combining cold-formed and hot-rolled profiles to optimise weight versus stiffness, with chipboard and grating deck surfaces and fire-protection plasterboard cladding on sections beneath passenger areas. This hybrid approach — cold-formed for lightweight decks, hot-rolled for primary transfer beams under high point loads — is the typical design pattern for large airport BHS support structures. Production and fabrication are entirely in-house in the Netherlands, certified to EN 1090 (steel structure execution) and ISO 9001. Designs are developed in BIM, and Anera supplies its own qualified site supervisors and installation crews. A single point of contact covers engineering, fabrication, logistics, and on-site assembly.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Structural support framework for airport baggage conveyor and loop/tilt-tray sorter systems
  • Early bag storage (EBS) racking structure integrated with BHS loading and retrieval conveyors
  • Screening machine decks positioning hold-baggage security equipment at the correct height relative to conveyor in-feed
  • Multi-level baggage transfer structures at large hub airports where sorter decks stack vertically
  • Co-engineered BHS support with hybrid cold-formed / hot-rolled design for dynamic load and vibration compliance
  • System-integrator partner construction for new terminal builds and baggage-hall expansions
