Astronics DME A650 Solar Runway Edge Light
Self-contained solar LED for expeditionary runways.
The A650 is a self-contained solar LED runway edge fitting for rapidly-deployable and austere runways. Meeting FAA L-861/L-862 colorimetry, it integrates a photovoltaic panel, Li-ion battery, LED head and IR-remote receiver in a frangible housing that a two-person team can deploy in minutes. Widely used by US DoD at Gulf FOBs and by humanitarian/medevac operators on desert strips where no mains grid exists.
