Its folded-array design fires X-rays from two perpendicular angles simultaneously, displaying both the conventional side-profile image and a vertical (top-down) projection side by side. This removes the need to rescan ambiguous items and closes the coverage gap that single-view systems leave on objects orientated with their longest axis along the beam — a known limitation in detecting blade weapons and thin layered threat materials.
