The AV-HLI2 is an inset LED helipad light designed for flush mounting into helipad surfaces where elevated lights are unsuitable — typically elevated rooftop hospital helipads, offshore platform decks, and heliports with frequent ground vehicle or maintenance equipment movements that risk contact with raised fixtures. The low-profile form factor eliminates the obstruction hazard while maintaining ICAO Annex 14 Volume 2 and FAA Engineering Brief 87 photometric compliance. The unit features fully sealed optics and electronics providing maximum resistance to dust and liquid ingress, which is particularly relevant on offshore helipads exposed to seawater spray and helicopter downwash. Patented optic geometry optimises light output intensity and distribution from within the surface plane. Corrosion-resistant anodised aluminium housing is compatible with Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) electrical systems. The AV-HLI2 covers FATO perimeter lights, TLOF lights, flight-path alignment lights, aim-point lights, and guidance lights — the full set of inset marking requirements for a certificated heliport. Solar and battery configuration options are available for locations without grid power, and IR LEDs provide NVG compatibility for military hospital ship and offshore platform operations. For GCC health authorities, energy companies, and military operators developing helipad infrastructure at hospitals and offshore facilities, the AV-HLI2 enables compliance with ICAO and FAA heliport lighting standards in surface configurations where elevated alternatives are operationally prohibited. Adaptor plates allow mounting into standard 8-inch and 5-inch shallow bases per IEC TS 61827 / FAA AC 5439/150-46D.
