CrisStore Dynamic Racking Solution
Rack-based early baggage storage system that maximises hold-baggage-screening throughput while compressing the footprint needed for make-up batch building.
The CrisStore is BEUMER Group's automated, rack-based baggage storage system, designed to sit directly within the hold-baggage screening (HBS) flow between the EBS level-3/4 screening matrix and the baggage make-up area. Rather than staging checked bags in flat storage lanes — which consume large floor areas and complicate batch sequencing — CrisStore stores each tote or bag in an addressed rack slot and retrieves it on demand when the relevant flight enters the make-up window.
The system is used in airport terminals where early baggage (EBT) volumes are significant and terminal sub-levels are constrained. Linking CrisStore to a tote-based ICS such as the CrisBag means the bag never leaves its tote between induction and carousel loading, giving operators continuous RFID/barcode traceability throughout storage. The rack architecture also enables batch-building logic — bags for a given flight are recalled as a controlled group, allowing speed-loading of ULDs or baggage carts rather than ad-hoc ramp throughput.
What sets CrisStore apart from simple lane-based early baggage storage is the dynamic allocation of slots: the management system assigns rack positions based on departure time, destination, and connection complexity, so the first bag retrieved for a flight is always the most time-critical. The vertical stacking increases storage density per square metre relative to flat conveyor lanes, making the system particularly attractive in brownfield terminals where mezzanine space is limited. In GCC hub environments operating 24/7 under high ambient temperatures, the enclosed rack-and-conveyor design keeps bags away from ground-level exposure while simplifying HVAC load compared with warehouse-style flat storage.

Use cases.
- ›Early baggage storage in hub airports with high advance check-in volumes
- ›HBS-integrated storage where in-tote screening must be preserved end-to-end
- ›Brownfield terminal upgrades where flat-lane EBT storage would exceed available floor area
- ›Flight-sequenced batch building to support ULD speed-loading at make-up
- ›Airports targeting IATA Resolution 753 100% bag-tracking compliance
