F-400 Series 400 Hz Frequency Converter
Solid-state 400 Hz frequency converter delivering ISO 6858-grade power to any commercial or military aircraft on the apron.
The F-400 Series is a static, solid-state AC ground power unit that converts mains supply into stable 400 Hz, 115/200 V three-phase power — the dedicated aircraft standard required by avionics, in-cabin systems, and maintenance test equipment on virtually every jet platform. CDR designs the series with voltage quality as its headline specification: phase unbalance is held below 2 V and phase angle to 120° ± 2.5°, both compliant with ISO 6858, the defining international standard for aircraft ground power quality. The F-400 range spans outputs up to 360 kVA, covering the full spectrum from narrow-body single-aisle (45–90 kVA) through wide-body twin-aisle (90–180 kVA) up to multi-aisle and cargo fleets at the top of the range. Up to five independent output channels can operate simultaneously from a single converter, making it cost-effective for stands serving multiple smaller aircraft or for maintenance bays with parallel work-packs in progress. An automatic cable-loss compensation circuit corrects for voltage drop across cable runs of up to 200 metres, which is decisive for remote apron positions and deep-pier gates where cable routing is long. The unit handles the environmental extremes of a GCC ramp: an operating range of −55 °C to +55 °C with 100 % relative humidity tolerance means it remains serviceable at peak summer temperatures in Riyadh, Dubai, or Doha without derated output. Communication interfaces — SCADA, Modbus, TCP/IP, RS-485 — integrate the converter into gate-management and BMS ecosystems. Frequency output is adjustable from 360 to 450 Hz, which also supports laboratory bench testing and military-standard test rigs.
