FTW 175 Eagle Cellular Monitor
Cellular LTE obstruction lighting monitor with encrypted data delivery and battery backup for FCC 24-hour status reporting at sites without wired Ethernet.
The FTW 175 Eagle is a cellular monitoring unit designed for obstruction lighting systems on structures where permanent wired Ethernet is absent or impractical. It connects via AT&T or Verizon LTE networks to Flash Technology's web portal, delivering lighting status, alarm notifications, and performance data to operators with no onsite IT infrastructure required.
The core compliance function is 24-hour positive communication: the FTW 175 Eagle satisfies FCC CFR 17.47's requirement that lighting status be confirmed to the responsible party at least once every 24 hours, and qualifies for the FCC quarterly visual inspection waiver when used with Flash-compatible Eagle-interface equipment. All data transmissions are encrypted, addressing the data-integrity and chain-of-custody requirements increasingly present in tower operator compliance programmes.
Four dry-contact monitoring inputs connect to the lighting controller and any ancillary equipment. An integrated modem reset board autonomously restores cellular connectivity following network dropout events — a practical reliability feature for unmanned rural sites where a connectivity gap might otherwise go undetected for days. Built-in AC power monitoring and a 2-hour battery backup maintain alarm transmission during mains outages. Compared with the FTW 175 SAT, the Eagle model is the lower-cost option for the large majority of North American sites within LTE coverage; the satellite variant is reserved for off-grid or coverage-gap locations. A 2-year warranty is included.
