Check-In Conveyor
A low-profile, stainless steel check-in conveyor that moves outbound passenger bags from the public ticket-counter zone to airside operations.
The check-in conveyor is the first mechanical link in the outbound baggage chain, accepting bags at the public face of the ticket counter and transporting them through the terminal wall to airside for screening and makeup. G&S builds these units with a low-profile cross-section, designed to sit flush with or just below the counter surface level so passengers can slide bags directly onto the belt without lifting — an important ergonomic and queue-management consideration at busy counters. Construction uses high-quality stainless steel throughout the drive section, slider bed modules, and tail section, giving the unit a clean, durable finish that withstands the high-contact, high-cleaning-frequency environment of a public check-in hall. The modular design allows lengths to be factory-built to precise site dimensions, accommodating the varying distances between the public counter face and the secure airside penetration point. The unit operates as a standalone manually loaded conveyor or integrates directly with a scale conveyor combination — the weighing conveyor sits in-line and passes the bag automatically to the check-in conveyor belt once the weight is captured. Downstream, the check-in conveyor feeds into the screening and transport system, whether a standalone EDS station or a fully inline CBIS. For GCC airport projects, the stainless finish addresses the high sanitation standards expected in premium Gulf terminals, and the modular construction supports the varied counter layouts found in new-build terminal designs across the region. The unit is code-compliant with all industry requirements for the airside/landside boundary transition.
