HUBTEX fuselage transporters are self-propelled platform trucks designed to move heavy aircraft fuselages, hull segments and work platforms between assembly stations, used individually or coupled together. In coupled operation the transport trolleys can carry aircraft fuselages weighing up to roughly 70 t (154,000 lbs); a fuselage-transporter (FTT) variant adds a tractor mounted on the nose wheel with an auxiliary steering system for exact positioning at assembly stations. The low-profile platform (height ~457 mm) runs on a lithium-ion battery with radio remote control and laser-scanner collision protection.
