The Robusta is Iacobucci HF Aerospace's aircraft water heater and beverage maker, designed to provide continuous on-demand hot water for tea, coffee, and hot beverage service without the recovery delays that affect traditional boiler-based galley inserts. The core engineering choice that defines the Robusta is its thermoblock heat-exchanger architecture: water is heated as it flows through a thermally efficient block element rather than being stored in a pressurised boiler that must re-heat between draws. The practical consequence is that the Robusta can deliver one full service cycle immediately after the previous one completes — crew do not need to wait for pressure or temperature to rebuild before serving the next row of passengers. Dispensing capacity is 1.4 litres per cycle at a controlled output temperature of 85°C, a figure set to match the optimal infusion temperature for tea and the standard extraction band for pour-over coffee service. The unit is available in Atlas, ARINC 810, and ARINC 810/812A interface variants, covering both legacy galley infrastructure and modern GAIN-standard monuments with data bus connectivity. The ARINC 812A variant supports digital parameter configuration: a USB port allows airline catering teams to upload blend-specific temperature and timing profiles to match their contracted hot beverage suppliers, so the same unit can be re-tuned for a new inflight beverage programme without hardware replacement. At 7.5 kg, the Robusta is a low-mass insert — a relevant consideration when specifying multiple units across a wide-body galley. Certified under Iacobucci's EASA Part 21 Sub G production approval and qualified on Airbus and Boeing platforms.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Long-haul widebody galley hot beverage service requiring continuous back-to-back cycle operation without recovery time
  • Premium cabin service (business/first class) where hot beverage temperature consistency affects passenger satisfaction scores
  • Airlines with branded pod or loose-leaf tea programmes requiring machine-level brew parameter customisation
  • ARINC 810/812A galley environments needing a certified hot-water insert on the maintenance data bus
  • Narrowbody galley refits replacing pressurised-boiler hot-water units with a lighter, zero-recovery-time alternative
