The SmartPort ALCMS (Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System) is inewatt's integrated supervision platform for managing and monitoring all airfield ground lighting (AGL) circuits from a single operational architecture. The system is structured around four discrete control nodes — the ATC Tower, the ATC Maintenance Room, and two CCR Vault positions — each running purpose-built software tailored to the role of that station. This distributed-node approach allows the tower controller to manage runway and approach lighting intensity steps in real time while maintenance teams simultaneously review fault states and equipment health without competing for the same interface. ALCMS solutions of this class replace the legacy practice of manual CCR step-switching and individual fault investigation, consolidating all circuit states — runway edge, taxiway centreline, approach lighting, stop bars, and runway guard lights — into a single graphical display. Controllers can implement intensity changes and sequence activations that would otherwise require telephone coordination with the CCR vault. Integration with stop-bar and runway guard light logic supports Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (SMGCS) operations at busier or low-visibility-procedure airports. For airports planning LED upgrades or CCR replacement, an ALCMS provides the supervisory backbone that makes remote-operated CCR step changes and automated fault alerting viable.
