ITW GSE 2400 - 270 VDC, 400 Hz
A solid-state 270 VDC / 400 Hz military GPU meeting MIL-STD-704F — the ground power standard for F-35, F-22, and fifth-generation fighter support.
The ITW GSE 2400 – 270 VDC, 400 Hz GPU is a solid-state ground power unit built specifically for military aircraft that require both 270 VDC high-voltage direct current and 400 Hz AC simultaneously. This dual-output capability reflects the power architecture of fifth-generation fighters: the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and F-22A Raptor use a 270 VDC bus for primary electrical loads, departing from the 28 VDC standard of older platforms. The unit is available in single-output (270 VDC only) and combi configurations (270 VDC + 400 Hz AC simultaneously).
On the DC side, the unit delivers 270 V ± 3 V at 267 A (72 kW), with transient performance exceeding MIL-STD-704F requirements — step-load recovery within 40 ms to 704F limits and 80 ms to full DC regulation. The 400 Hz AC output (combi model) is 90 kVA at 0.8 power factor, 115/200 V, with frequency stability of ± 0.1% and voltage regulation under 1%. Input is 380–480 V, 50/60 Hz, with a 12-pulse frontend minimising harmonic distortion. MTBF is rated at 100,000 hours with a maximum repair time of 20 minutes. The unit operates across -40 °C to +55 °C and holds IP55 protection, making it operable in desert and high-humidity military base environments. Both fixed wall-mount and mobile trailer versions are available. Certified to ISO 6858:2017(E), MIL-STD-704F, UL 1012, NFPA 70 Article 500, and the F-35-specific interface standard 2ZEU00004.
