ITW GSE 2400 Power Coil
A 90 kVA, 400 Hz solid-state GPU with an integrated motorised cable coil — power supply and cable management in a single bridge-mounted enclosure.
The ITW GSE 2400 Power Coil combines a 400 Hz, 90 kVA solid-state frequency converter with a motorised cable coil inside one compact housing. Rather than pairing a separate cable reel with a standalone GPU, the unit stores up to 28 m of symmetrical cable internally; after disconnection the cable retracts automatically into the housing at the press of a button, keeping the apron clear and eliminating trip hazards. Output voltage is 3 × 115/200 V at 400 Hz with an overall efficiency of 0.94 at loads between 35 and 90 kVA. Standby losses are just 65 W, and the unit supports power factor 1 aircraft including the Boeing 787, Airbus A350, and A380 through its ITW GSE Plug & Play compensation system.
The Power Coil is designed for fixed installation on passenger boarding bridges at medium to large commercial airports handling wide-body and narrow-body rotations. Its single-enclosure form minimises pit or bridge structural requirements, and the stainless steel front plate and frequency-controlled direct-driven coil reduce mechanical wear and maintenance intervals. EcoGate compatibility allows it to integrate with Intelligent Power Management so gate-level power capacity is shared dynamically across GPU and PCA loads. Tested to ISO 6858 (sections 1–8) and 60 °C ambient at full load, it is suited to the high-ambient ramp conditions common across the Gulf region.
