Reveal
Compact dual-energy CT explosives detection system certified by TSA, ECAC, and ISA — available in three sizes including an oversize XL variant.
The Reveal is Leidos' compact, standalone CT-based Explosive Detection System, offered in two core model families — the Reveal CT-80DR+ and the Reveal CT-800 — with an XL configuration (CT-80+ XL) for oversize baggage. All variants use dual-energy computed tomography that measures both the density and effective atomic number of every voxel in the bag, enabling the automated detection algorithm to classify bulk, sheet, liquid, and homemade explosive materials with a high probability of detection and a low false alarm rate. The dual-energy approach eliminates the reliance on density thresholds alone, reducing the mis-identification of dense but benign items that inflates manual resolution workload in single-energy designs.
The CT-80DR+ is the smallest certified EDS on the market — roughly the footprint of a conventional carry-on X-ray unit — making it the reference choice for space-constrained check-in halls, satellite terminals, pier screening points, and standalone checked-baggage drop facilities where a full inline BHS integration is not feasible. Throughput is up to 226 BPH for the DR+ and up to 250 BPH for the CT-800, positioning both as primary screeners for low-to-medium-volume desks or as secondary resolution units in larger inline estates. The CT-80+ XL extends the conveyor to handle items up to 2.5 metres long — golf bags, skis, oversized cases, and freight parcels — without a separate out-of-gauge lane.
All Reveal variants carry certifications from the TSA, ECAC (European), and the Israeli ISA — a triple-certification that matters in GCC airports that host airlines under all three regulatory frameworks. With over 850 CT-80DR+ units deployed globally and greater than 99.5% fleet availability, the Reveal family offers a low-risk procurement for airports introducing certified CT EDS without committing to a full inline BHS redesign.

Use cases.
- ›Standalone checked-baggage screening at space-constrained regional airports, satellite terminals, and pier security checkpoints
- ›Low-to-medium-volume check-in desks and self-service bag-drop areas requiring certified CT EDS in a small footprint
- ›Secondary automated resolution station downstream of a high-throughput primary EDS inline system
- ›Oversize and out-of-gauge baggage screening (CT-80+ XL) for sporting equipment, freight parcels, and outsized checked items
- ›Airport operators procuring a standalone EDS to achieve TSA, ECAC, or ISA compliance with minimal BHS infrastructure change
- ›Airports hosting airlines under US, European, and Israeli security oversight simultaneously, where triple-certification simplifies regulatory acceptance
