The BV 5030 is a single-view, high-resolution X-ray inspection system sized for screening carry-on baggage, handbags, diplomatic pouches, and mail items up to the 520 mm × 320 mm tunnel aperture. Operating at 160 kV with a diagonally upward beam geometry, the detector chain resolves 0.08 mm copper wire (40 AWG) and achieves 36 mm steel penetration — sufficient for the dense consumer electronics and layered fabric loads typical of carry-on luggage.

The unit is compact relative to its screening class: 750 mm wide, 1,200 mm high, and 1,240 mm long, with a 380 kg maximum weight and a 0.9 kVA maximum power draw. This footprint makes it viable for integration into narrow checkpoint lanes, consulate mail rooms, hotel security desks, and light-industrial access points where the larger BV 6045 would not fit. Conveyor speed is fixed at 0.22 m/s with a 160 kg rated belt load.

Optional AI threat-detection software extends the baseline imaging capability to automatic flagging of firearms, bladed weapons, and pyrotechnics, reducing operator workload at sustained throughput. Remote operation to 25 m and optional network connectivity support supervisor-console architectures common in multi-lane airport checkpoint deployments. The modular build allows in-field servicing without full system removal, lowering total-cost-of-ownership over an extended operational cycle.

For GCC operators, the 0 °C to 40 °C operating range covers all conditioned indoor environments; the unit ships with 230 VAC or 120 VAC compatibility, simplifying procurement for mixed-standard facilities across the region.
