Schmidt MFH 250 compact electric/road sweeper (distributed by Manmachine Works)

The Schmidt MFH 250 is a compact ride-on sweeper at the sub-5-tonne class, intended for environments where a larger truck-mounted or ride-on unit cannot manoeuvre efficiently. At airports, that means terminal forecourts, multi-storey and surface car parks, airside access roads, equipment bays, and the internal corridors of cargo and maintenance buildings. The machine offers two sweeping configurations: a two-brush pushed system (850 mm brush diameter, up to 2,900 mm working width) or a three-brush pulled system (800 mm brush diameter, up to 2,600 mm working width), allowing procurement teams to specify against surface type and FOD risk level. A 2 m³ aluminium hopper — corrosion and seawater resistant, relevant for coastal Gulf airports — tips to a discharge height of 1,400 mm, clearing into standard wheeled containers. The hydropneumatically suspended hydrostatic chassis reaches transport speeds up to 50 km/h for inter-zone transit. The Koanda closed-circuit air system and pressurised water recirculation reduce fine-dust emissions by up to 70% against open-fan designs, and the unit carries PM10/PM2.5 four-star certification. Cabin noise is quoted at 72 dB(A). Engine options span EuroMot 5 (55 kW, no AdBlue) and Euro 6c (62 kW) to match local emissions regulations. The optional 17.5-inch tyre upgrade raises the permissible total weight to 5,000 kg for heavier-duty loadings.
