The LEMIRL (LED Elevated Medium Intensity Runway Light) is Multi Electric's latest-generation elevated airfield light for runway edge, threshold, displaced threshold, and end demarcation on non-precision and IFR instrument runways. Certified to FAA AC150/5345-46 (L-861, L-861E, L-861SE), AP-170 Vol II, CASA MOS Part 139, and Canadian TP-312, it replaces legacy halogen medium-intensity fittings with a fully solid-state LED assembly that draws substantially less power from the constant current regulator circuit.

For procurement teams evaluating a runway lighting refresh, the LEMIRL's main operational advantage is its common-parts platform: the same mechanics, driver electronics, and firmware apply across all colour and height configurations. That cuts spare-parts inventory and means field technicians can swap LED boards or domes without any optical re-alignment — the sources are factory-preconfigured. The IP68-sealed glass dome eliminates the sealant-compound maintenance step that plagues older units after temperature cycling, a meaningful life-cycle saving in climates that swing between desert heat and overnight cold.

Available in four mounting heights (14 in / 35.5 cm through 30 in / 76.2 cm) and five light-output colours (white, yellow, red, green, obscured), the fixture covers edge, threshold, runway-end, displaced-threshold, and wing-bar roles from a single product family. An optional Arctic Kit extends serviceability to extreme cold environments. The LEMIRL operates across a -55 °C to +55 °C range and integrates with any FAA- or IEC-compliant CCR, making it a retrofit-safe choice for airports with existing series-circuit infrastructure — a common configuration at regional and international airports across the GCC and wider Middle East.
