The LITC is a multi-role inset LED fixture that consolidates three distinct surface-movement lighting functions — taxiway centreline guidance (green), runway-entry stop bar (red), and intermediate holding position lights — into a single product family available in both 8-inch and 12-inch diameters. This consolidation matters operationally because a complex taxiway environment at a large hub airport may combine all three functions within the same CCR circuit, and using a platform-consistent fixture reduces stocking, tooling, and training overhead.

Stop bar lighting is safety-critical: under ICAO Annex 14 and FAA AC 150/5340-30 it forms part of the runway incursion prevention system, particularly on CAT III-equipped airports where stop bars must be continuously lit during low-visibility operations. The LITC achieves the required red intensity in a unidirectional configuration at just 7 VA — a figure that allows dense stop-bar arrays without overloading the CCR step.

The 6.35 mm pavement protrusion is a deliberate design choice to minimise transmitted vibration to aircraft tyres during taxi, a benefit that also increases fixture longevity at high-frequency taxiway intersections such as those leading to a Category I or II runway threshold. Both 8-inch and 12-inch can sizes share the same 85 mm device depth in the 8-inch variant, with the 12-inch variant adding depth to accommodate the larger optical assembly.

Certification breadth — ICAO, FAA, EASA, IEC, NATO, CAA, TCCA, CASA, ENAC — means the LITC is directly specifiable on projects across GCC member-state civil aviation authority requirements without regulatory re-engineering.

Use cases.

  • Taxiway centreline guidance lighting on civil and military aerodromes
  • Runway-entry stop bar arrays forming part of the runway incursion prevention system
  • Intermediate holding position lighting at taxiway-to-taxiway intersections
  • Complex hub airports standardising on a single multi-role inset fixture platform
  • CAT II/III airports requiring stop bar integration with airfield lighting control systems and fault monitoring
