The LITE is an omnidirectional inset LED taxiway edge light, providing the blue lateral delineation of taxiway edges at night and in low-visibility conditions. Taxiway edge lights are the baseline surface-movement lighting element: every certificated aerodrome with night operations requires them, and their density — continuous runs at 60–200 m intervals — makes energy efficiency a direct operating-cost factor over the system's lifetime.

At 8 VA, the LITE is among the most energy-efficient inset taxiway edge lights in its class. On a typical large hub airport taxiway network with several hundred fixtures, the saving over 45 W halogen equivalents is measurable in megawatt-hours per year and translates to CCR load reductions that may permit deferred CCR replacement during phased LED conversion.

The 8-inch or 12-inch diameter options allow the LITE to be installed into either standard-size or legacy large-diameter inset cans, reducing the pavement re-work required during a retrofit programme. The 6.35 mm protrusion minimises vibration from tyre overruns — a design feature that extends both fixture life and tyre service life on high-frequency taxi routes. LED rated life exceeds 100,000 hours under field conditions, which at a 6,000-hour annual duty cycle represents over 16 years before a first replacement cycle.

Omnidirectional output ensures the blue edge delineation is visible from any approach angle, meeting ICAO Annex 14 requirements for taxiway edge light coverage. Standards compliance spans ICAO, FAA, IEC, and NATO — covering the regulatory frameworks encountered across GCC, European, and military aerodrome projects.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Taxiway edge delineation on civil and military aerodromes with night or low-visibility operations
  • Large-scale LED taxiway conversion programmes where energy savings and CCR load reduction are primary drivers
  • Retrofit into legacy large-diameter inset cans to minimise pavement rework
  • High-frequency taxi routes requiring maximum tyre-vibration resistance and fixture longevity
  • GCC airport expansion and new-build taxiway projects under ICAO Annex 14 and GCAA/GACA standards
