The B80 Electric is Oshkosh AeroTech's zero-emission baggage and cargo tractor — the battery-powered variant of the B80 towing tractor platform that the company (formerly JBT AeroTech, acquired by Oshkosh Corporation in 2023) positions as the new standard for ramp tugs. It is built for the everyday work of an airport ramp: hauling baggage carts and cargo dollies between terminal, bag room and stand, with the manoeuvrability to thread narrow bag-room lanes.

Published performance is concrete rather than aspirational: 5,000 lb (22.2 kN) of drawbar pull, a 20 mph (32 kph) top speed and a 9,600 lb (4,355 kg) unit weight. The chassis is compact — 112.5 in (2.86 m) long without hitch, 57.8 in (1.46 m) wide including mirrors and 71 in (1.8 m) tall — and turns inside 69.5 in (1.76 m) at the rear tyre, so it operates comfortably in congested baggage halls. Four-wheel disc brakes provide stopping power for heavy cart trains.

The B80 platform's signature is operator comfort: an independent front suspension paired with heavy-duty rear leaf springs and suspension seating strips out the jarring ride of traditional solid-axle tugs, which matters over a full shift on rough apron concrete. The electric drivetrain removes engine heat, vibration, fuel handling and exhaust from that equation entirely, and cuts routine powertrain maintenance against the 75 hp Ford-gasoline B80 sibling.

For GCC operators, electric baggage tractors are one of the fastest wins in ramp-electrification programmes — high duty cycles, depot-based charging and immediate emissions savings at the stand. The B80 Electric slots into that role as a like-for-like replacement for gasoline and diesel tugs, supported by Oshkosh AeroTech's worldwide customer-care and parts network.
