The Lufft CHM 15k NIMBUS (8350.00) is a single-shaft backscatter LIDAR ceilometer that reliably detects multiple cloud layers, cirrus clouds and aerosol layers within a measuring range of up to 15 km. The NIMBUS generation determines cloud base heights, penetration depths, mixing-layer height and vertical visibility using a solid-state laser. Cloud-base measurement is a core input to airport automated weather observation.
