RS 200 Performance Line Runway Sweeper

The RS 200 Performance Line positions itself as the mid-range machine in Øveraasen's RS sweeper family — smaller and lighter than the RS 400, but sharing the same 1,170 mm brush diameter and the same 150 m/s blowing velocity, so clearing quality is not diluted by the reduced working width. At 3,600 mm clearing width and 65 km/h working speed, capacity reaches 234,000 m²/h — enough to handle a 2,400 m secondary runway or a full taxiway system as the primary sweeper at a regional airport, or as a secondary unit supplementing the RS 400 at a hub. The power unit is a Volvo Penta TAD 1182VE (EU Stage V / EPA Tier 4f) producing 285 kW (382 HP) at 1,700 rpm. The blower delivers 40,000 m³/h at 150 m/s, matching the RS 400 blower output in a platform that is approximately 1,350 mm shorter (11,340 mm vs 12,700 mm without truck). This dimensional advantage matters in airports where equipment must navigate tight taxiway intersections or share holding areas with aircraft. Brush material options (steel or polyurethane) allow adaptation between abrasive pavement-sweeping and more delicate apron surfaces. The RS 200 is a common first-buy for airports building out a sweeping fleet, and a natural second machine for airports that have standardised on the RS 400 as their primary unit. The shared Danfoss Plus1 control architecture across the RS series means operator training and software maintenance are transferable across the fleet.
