RS 600 Performance Line Runway Sweeper

The RS 600 Performance Line is Øveraasen's flagship runway sweeper and the highest-capacity machine of its type in series production. Built around a twin-brush configuration and a purpose-engineered blower unit, it delivers a 7,500 mm clearing width in a single pass — wide enough to cover a standard runway strip width without multiple laps — at a working speed of up to 65 km/h. At that speed and width the theoretical clearing rate reaches 488,000 m²/h, making it the machine of choice when a main runway must be returned to Category III operations quickly after a heavy snowfall event. Power comes from a Volvo TAD1385 meeting EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4f emissions standards, rated at 405 kW (543 HP). The blower system moves 60,000 m³/h of air at 150 m/s — fast enough to eject compacted slush well clear of the runway edge. The brush system (1,170 mm diameter, steel or polyurethane material options) operates across a 0–720 rpm range with automatic wear compensation. Control is handled by Danfoss Plus1 electronics, and the machine is compatible with Yeti Move autonomous operating platform for driverless or remotely supervised runs. The RS 600 targets the largest hub airports — international airports with 3,000 m+ runways where each minute of closure has measurable cost. It is equally suited to high-altitude or extreme cold environments where single-pass clearance is operationally critical.
