Check-In Conveyor
Three-stage check-in conveyor unit combining weighing, tagging, and automatic induction in a single passenger-accessible assembly.
The Pteris Global Check-In Conveyor is the passenger-facing workstation conveyor at the departure check-in counter. Each position integrates three functional stages in a single assembly: a scale conveyor mounted on a four-load-cell base frame for bag weighing; a label conveyor for applying baggage tags; and an induction conveyor that introduces the labelled, weighed bag into the take-away collector. An optional slanted induction conveyor configuration tips upright bags before they enter the conveying stream, reducing jamming and misalignment incidents downstream.
Once the agent has completed weight and tag operations, activating the scale conveyor triggers automatic induction — the bag moves under controlled motion from the counter surface onto the collector without manual pushing. This reduces per-bag handling time and standardises injection velocity. A safety gate prevents child access to the conveying zone from the public side and is available as an optional fitment.
The conveyor is available in single, two-stage, or three-stage configurations, making it suitable for standard check-in desks, self-service bag-drop lanes, and premium-class multi-position islands. Stainless steel is used for public-area surfaces. The low counter height reduces passenger effort when lifting bags. Wheel mounting allows individual units to be rolled clear for under-counter maintenance access without disturbing adjacent positions — a practical consideration in a live airport where sections of a check-in row must remain operational during servicing. The system integrates with Pteris Global's Take-Away Conveyor via the window reservation control system, which manages induction timing across all desk positions feeding a shared collector.

Use cases.
- ›Standard full-service check-in counter positions at departure halls
- ›Self-service bag-drop integration with automated weighing and tagging
- ›Premium-class multi-position check-in islands with higher throughput
- ›High-density check-in rows where maintenance access requires wheel-out removal
- ›Systems requiring automatic bag induction to reduce agent physical handling
