The Pteris Global Airport Logistic Suite (PALS) is the supervisory software layer that governs baggage sortation across all conveyors and diverters within a Pteris BHS installation. It replaces manual bag routing decisions with rule-driven automation, managing how each tagged bag is directed through the sort matrix based on flight, airline, pier, check-in desk, or user-defined allocation criteria — including fallback tag protocols when primary sort data is unavailable.

PALS is available in two tiers: PALS SAC Enterprise for large international airports, and PALS SAC Standard for smaller or regional facilities. Both include the Rapid Interface Scripts feature, which allows connection to airport IT environments — including Baggage Information Systems (BIS), Flight Information Systems (FIS), Baggage Reconciliation Systems (BRS), and Security and Safety Information Management Systems (SSIMS) — without custom integration work for each host interface. Plug-and-play connectivity with hold-baggage screening machines allows PALS to receive alarm signals and route re-screen bags automatically through the HBS matrix, satisfying today's 100% hold-bag screening mandates.

The development environment is certified to IEEE Software Development Life Cycle standards and is fully compliant with IATA and ICAO regulatory requirements — important for procurement teams whose specifications reference IATA AHM or ICAO Annex 17 compliance as a gate criterion. Pteris Global's PALS team brings over two decades of BHS software experience. A Gantt chart-based visual resource allocation interface allows operations staff to review and adjust sort plans without interpreting raw allocation tables. Exhaustive report generation supports post-event baggage tracing and KPI measurement against punctuality targets.
