The RTT 110 is a full-volumetric computed tomography explosive detection system (EDS) built for high-demand hold baggage and air cargo screening environments. Unlike conventional rotating-gantry CT units, the RTT 110 uses a stationary gantry with a fixed array of X-ray sources and detectors that reconstruct three-dimensional density maps of every item passing through its 1020 × 756 mm tunnel. This architecture eliminates the mechanical wear and maintenance overhead associated with spinning gantry assemblies while delivering continuous, gap-minimised throughput via Rapiscan's 'Dynamic Window' belt management.

In operational terms, the system is sized for inline hold baggage screening (HBS) lanes at large hub airports, as well as stand-alone air cargo and freight facilities where scan throughput is the binding constraint. At 0.5 m/s belt speed the system routinely exceeds 1,800 checked bags per hour or 2,500 parcels per hour — rates that keep pace with the fastest automated BHS inject lines without requiring dual-lane redundancy.

The RTT 110 holds ECAC Standard 3 and ECAC 3.1 approval (the EU's highest EDS performance tier), TSA certification, and approvals from DfT, ENAC, and STAC, making it deployable across all major regulatory jurisdictions including GCC countries that mandate ECAC-aligned screening for international departure halls. Its EU Standard 3 EDS algorithm resolves 98% of Level 1 alarm decisions within one second of scan exit, delivering operator review images at machine exit and shortening the conveyor run required for resolution workstations by an average of seven metres versus competing systems. The multiplex matrix supports up to 40 systems networked to more than 120 operator workstations, suiting both greenfield terminal builds and phased capacity upgrades.
