The SC21 is the slim-profile member of Sepura's SC2 hand-portable family, designed for roles where reduced bulk and weight improve all-day wearability without cutting corners on performance. At 60 × 122.5 × 27 mm and 194 g — roughly 25% smaller than the SC20 — it remains a full TETRA device operating on UHF bands (380–430 MHz and 403–470 MHz) with Class 3 high-power RF output and a receive sensitivity of −116 dBm static, giving it extended range despite its reduced footprint.

The 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display (37 × 49 mm, 320 × 240 px) is the largest fitted to any TETRA hand-portable in its class, providing clear readability under bright apron daylight. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi secondary data bearers support data messaging and application connectivity, while quad-constellation GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo) enables real-time personnel location. Water Porting technology keeps audio intelligible in rain or high-humidity environments.

For airport procurers, the SC21 represents the value case within the SC2 family: it shares accessories, batteries, and charging infrastructure with the SC20 and SC23, reducing total ownership cost when deploying a mixed fleet. It suits high-volume, role-versatile deployments — check-in clerks, passenger services agents, baggage handlers, and airside marshals who need a reliable TETRA device without the bulk of the full-featured flagship. Sepura's SC2 series has been deployed across Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad's network, illustrating its proven fit for large, multi-team airport environments.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Passenger services, check-in, and gate agents requiring a lighter TETRA device for multi-hour shifts
  • Baggage handling and ramp marshalling teams in large mixed-role fleet deployments
  • Airside coordinators benefiting from GPS tracking without the weight penalty of the full flagship
  • Operators upgrading from older TETRA handsets who want shared-accessory compatibility with the SC20/SC23
  • Customer-facing and back-office staff in busy hub airports needing group-call and emergency capability
