The SCG22 is Sepura's TETRA mobile radio for vehicle installation, delivering the sustained RF power and audio output that a handheld device fundamentally cannot match. At Class 2 RF power (10 W), it extends effective coverage to the full perimeter of large airfield sites — including areas where handheld power (1–3 W) reaches the limits of network geometry. An 8 W speaker output ensures communications are intelligible over cabin noise and vehicle HVAC systems without a headset.

The SCG22 operates across three frequency bands — VHF (136–174 MHz), UHF (380–470 MHz), and 800 MHz (806–870 MHz) — making it compatible with existing TETRA networks operating across different band plans. It connects to the vehicle's 10.8–15.6 V DC supply (rated 90 W) and offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi secondary data connectivity for CAD integration, dispatch messaging, and application access. GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo) enables vehicle tracking. The IP54-rated main unit is paired with an optional IP67-rated SCC3 or HBC3 console for the cab.

In the airport context the SCG22 is the natural fit for GSE vehicles — aircraft tugs, fuel bowsers, catering trucks, baggage tractors, and follow-me cars — whose operators need persistent, high-power TETRA coverage without managing a handheld battery. It also suits ATC vehicle convoys, airside security patrol vehicles, and fire-response vehicles requiring group-call and emergency-call capability. The wide DC supply range (10.8–15.6 V) accommodates both 12 V and 24 V vehicle electrical systems common in heavy GSE fleets.
