The SCU3 is Sepura's vehicle-installed communications hub for the broadband era, pairing TETRA narrowband resilience with 4G/5G cellular connectivity in a single ruggedised head unit. Running Android 12 (non-GMS) with two Micro-SIM slots for cellular plus one dedicated TETRA SIM, it can operate as LTE-only, TETRA-only, or a simultaneous hybrid — allowing an airport or ground handler to roll it out ahead of full MCX network readiness and enable the cellular capability as coverage expands.

The unit drives external displays at up to 720p (1280 × 720, 1280 × 800, or 1024 × 768), supporting screen sizes from 7 inches to 65 inches — meaning a GSE vehicle cab can display a mapped operational picture, a vehicle-mounted workstation can run a full dispatch application, and a mobile control room can use the SCU3 as its communications backbone. A 7 W speaker output handles high-ambient-noise vehicle environments without an external amplifier. Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi provide peripheral and LAN connectivity.

The SCU3 uses a broad DC supply range of 6–36 V, accommodating everything from 12 V passenger vehicles to 24 V heavy-duty GSE and airport buses. The aluminium die-cast housing with rugged connectors is rated IP54, suited to the vibration and weather exposure of airside vehicle deployment. For GCC airports investing in digital ground operations — electronic turnaround documentation, real-time vehicle dispatch, HD CCTV relay from airside vehicles — the SCU3 provides the vehicle-side platform without requiring a separate broadband device alongside a TETRA radio.
