VarioSort is Siemens Logistics' self-powered cross-belt sorter running in a closed loop around the terminal. Bags are discharged by belt reversal rather than tilt, giving gentle handling on fragile luggage. It supports linear speeds above 2 m/s and throughputs measured in tens of thousands of bags per hour depending on loop length.
