Signalight's elevated heliport perimeter light range covers both the Touchdown and Lift-Off (TLOF) area marker and the Final Approach and Take-Off (FATO) boundary light — the two primary perimeter systems required by ICAO Annex 14 Volume II wherever helicopter night operations are conducted. The TLOF light emits a steady omnidirectional green signal to demarcate the exact landing footprint; the FATO light emits steady omnidirectional white to delineate the broader manoeuvring zone. This colour convention is mandatory under ICAO standards and is the primary discriminant pilots use during hover finals. Both fixtures share the same rugged mechanical architecture: an elevated mount on a base plate with a frangible coupling, powder-coated aluminium housing, UV-protected polycarbonate diffuser, and stainless steel fasteners. The thermal qualification reaches −50 °C to +50 °C, making both units suitable for offshore platforms in northern latitudes as well as rooftop hospital heliports in high-temperature regions. Protection is rated IP67. Power input is 48 V DC from a heliport controller with three-step dimming (100 / 30 / 10%); 90–230 V AC mains connection is available but omits the dimming function. TLOF units consume 10 W and FATO units 12 W at full intensity, keeping system draw very low even on a full perimeter array. LEDs are OSRAM-sourced and validated through an external photometric laboratory against ICAO colour and distribution requirements, with a rated service life exceeding 100,000 hours — eliminating the lamp-replacement cycles that create recurring maintenance costs on offshore facilities.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Night and IMC-adjacent operations on rooftop hospital heliports
  • Offshore oil and gas platform helidecks with elevated perimeter configurations
  • Ground-level permanent heliports where FATO and TLOF share the same boundary
  • Military forward-operating-base helipads requiring compact, low-power lighting
  • Retrofit of non-compliant or ageing tungsten perimeter systems with LED upgrades
