Runway Guard Light (Signalight-made)
High-intensity elevated runway guard light in aviation yellow, CCR- or mains-powered, certified to ICAO Annex 14 and five FAA Advisory Circulars including MIL-STD-810F.
Runway Guard Lights (RGLs) are one of the most operationally critical guidance fixtures on a controlled aerodrome: they alert taxiing crews and ground vehicles that they are approaching an active runway, providing a last line of defence before an unauthorised runway incursion. Signalight's RGL is a high-intensity elevated fixture that conforms to ICAO Annex 14 Volume I and a comprehensive set of FAA Advisory Circulars — AC 150/5345-53, AC 150/5345-46c, AC 150/5200-30, AC 150/5340-30 — together with the military environmental qualification standard MIL-STD-810F, making it suitable for both civil airports and defence airfield programmes. The unit emits amber (yellow) light from OSRAM LEDs through a clear polycarbonate diffuser; red LED emission is available as an alternative or supplementary option for specific national regulations. The anti-glare visor in RAL 9005 black prevents spill light from distracting flight crew on the runway. Power draw is 20 W, fed either at 6.6 A from a CCR (the standard series-circuit supply for airfield lighting) or directly from 110 / 230 V AC mains; 24 V DC input is also specified for certain parallel-circuit applications. The housing is powder-coated aluminium (RAL 1004), with a polycarbonate diffuser, nickel-plated brass cable gland, and stainless steel fasteners. It mounts on a 260 mm base plate via a 2.5-inch frangible coupling to shear safely under aircraft wheel contact. A low-profile mounting option is available for taxiway geometry constraints. Photometric test reports and light distribution data are provided to the procurer.
