The VISTA system is Signalight's primary elevated airfield lighting platform for permanent runway installations, recognised with the Inter Airport Europe Innovation Award in 2021. The high-intensity variant of the VISTA range covers the full approach, runway edge, runway end, threshold, and threshold wing-bar positions required for a complete non-precision or non-instrumental approach runway lighting system. It is the product of choice where the aerodrome operates at night or in reduced-visibility conditions and requires a lighting system that delivers more intensity than the low/medium range without the infrastructure overhead of a full Category I or II precision-approach system. The VISTA high-intensity line achieves five brightness steps — 1%, 3%, 10%, 30%, and 100% — under 1.4 A DC constant-current control, matching the five CCR steps that operators are accustomed to managing. An optional photocell enables automatic transition to night-mode dimming without controller intervention. Power per fixture ranges from 7 W (runway end) to 38 W (approach) at full intensity, with OSRAM LEDs and purpose-designed optical lenses producing photometric curves that satisfy ICAO Annex 14 Annex 1 isocandela requirements. Construction is powder-coated aviation-yellow aluminium (RAL 1004) with a glass disperser, nickel-plated brass cable gland, and stainless steel fasteners; an anti-condensation valve prevents internal moisture accumulation in humid coastal and GCC desert-air environments. The operating envelope spans −55 °C to +55 °C with IP67 sealing and a salt-mist qualification (Ka tested). Mounting accessories include frangible couplings, shallow and surface-mounted 160 mm and 260 mm base plates, and FAA L-823 connectors.
