Trailer-Mounted Mobile ATC Tower & Air Traffic Management System (Vardhman Airport Solutions)
A fully self-contained, trailer-mounted control tower providing deployable 360° all-weather ATC capability for emergency, temporary, or remote aerodrome operations — available with rapid hydraulic elevation and an integrated communication, weather, and power suite.
A permanent ATC tower is a years-long construction commitment; the Mobile ATC unit is its rapid-response counterpart. Mounted on a road-legal trailer, the system transports to any airfield, is levelled by outriggers, and raises its cab on a hydraulic lift to a height appropriate for the terrain and runway sight-lines — with safety locks preventing inadvertent descent during operations. The elevated cabin provides 360° unobstructed visibility with glare-controlled glazing, configured internally with ergonomic modular furniture, workstations, foldable seating, and rest provisions for extended duty cycles. All core ATC functions are integrated: VHF transceivers for ground-to-air and inter-facility communications, an automatic weather observation station with real-time cockpit data display, and provisions for collapsible illuminated Landing T and aerodrome beacon to provide visual cues when radar or instrument aids are absent. Electrical supply uses a low-noise (silent) generator with automatic changeover and UPS to ensure uninterrupted power across all electronics and lighting, including the aerodrome beacon. The cabin uses fire-retardant interior materials and has designated firefighting equipment fitment points per aerodrome safety standards. The ruggedised structure is designed for defence mobility requirements as well as civil use. The primary deployment scenarios are emergency replacement of a damaged or compromised permanent tower, temporary operations during permanent tower construction or major maintenance, remote or new airstrip activation where a permanent tower is not yet funded, tactical military aviation ATC at forward operating bases, and disaster-response airfield management. The design's self-sufficiency — generator, weather, comms, lighting guidance — means it can bring an unserviced strip to operational status without external infrastructure. This is particularly relevant to GCC and wider Gulf region operators developing secondary aerodromes, defence aviation facilities, and rapid-construction infrastructure projects.
