The Watex Runway Rubber Removal Jetting Panel and Rotary Head is the ground-contact sub-assembly of a UHP runway rubber removal system. Rather than a standalone vehicle, this product represents the consumable cleaning head that couples to a dedicated high-pressure pump output — whether on a full vehicle or a towed/containerised power pack — and performs the actual rubber ablation at the runway surface. The assembly consists of a flat jetting panel housing an array of 24 to 52 nozzle orifices, with each rotary cleaning head carrying four nozzles at 0.5 mm diameter. The nozzles spin under hydraulic reaction as pressurised water exits, combining the forward-velocity jet with a sweeping rotational action that dislodges compacted rubber without requiring abrasives or chemicals. Uraca KD725-specification pump output drives the heads at up to 2,800 bar, generating the shear energy necessary to fracture and lift the rubber matrix from the top surface micro-texture of concrete or asphalt without eroding aggregate or macro-texture depth — a critical requirement for maintaining the friction characteristics designed into the pavement. The rotary head assembly is an expected wear item and is designed for quick field replacement. Nozzle wear pattern and flow-rate drift are the primary indicators for planned exchange, typically assessed at scheduled service intervals. Panels are configurable for width, enabling operations across varying touchdown-zone dimensions or for narrower taxi-stripe work. The self-contained vacuum skirt around the panel captures aerosolised water and detached rubber particulate, feeding the vehicle's onboard recovery system. This design eliminates secondary hand-sweeping passes and keeps the airfield surface operationally dry.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Routine replacement of worn rotary nozzle heads during scheduled runway-maintenance service intervals
  • Upgrading or retrofitting existing third-party UHP vehicles with a higher-nozzle-count panel for wider cleaning swaths
  • Narrower-panel configuration for taxiway edge-line rubber and paint removal without full-width passes
  • Replacement spares stocking for airports or contractors that operate multiple Watex or compatible UHP vehicles
  • Adapting panel width to match specific touchdown-zone marking boundaries
