Company brief

Global Ground Support LLC, headquartered in Olathe, Kansas (540 E. Old Highway 56), is a US-based manufacturer of ground support equipment with around 25 years of trading history and customers in 43 countries. The company is a subsidiary of Air T, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIRT) and was formed in the late 1990s when Air T, then guided by aerospace luminary George Prill, acquired Simon Deicer and transformed it into Global Ground Support LLC. The company is positioned as the world's second-largest aircraft deicer truck manufacturer and runs the strapline 'Ready. Reliable. Responsive.' Global supplies the commercial aviation, airport, ground handling and military markets with deicers (G-2200, G-2875ER, G-1200, GL-1800, GL-2875), glycol recovery vehicles (GRV), glycol transfer trucks (GTV-5000), Hi-Lift catering trucks, flight-line tow tractors, deicer simulators (used for operator training) and a range of military-grade equipment. Service offerings include MRO (maintenance, repairs and overhauls), spare parts and warranty support, technical support, and training delivered through 'Global's GSE Academy.' The business is a registered US government supplier (CAGE code 1B1PO) and works with Sourcewell for cooperative government purchasing. In 1999 Global secured its first US Air Force contract and continues to supply armed-forces and federal customers in addition to commercial airlines and airports. Distinct strengths include the breadth of de-icing product line (open-cab and enclosed cabs, multiple boom lengths and tank capacities), a long-running deicer simulator training programme, and the combined commercial-and-military customer base which provides year-round production demand to offset seasonal de-icing peaks.
