Thales is France's principal defence and aerospace electronics group, holding strong positions in civil air-traffic management (TopSky ATM is used by more than 130 ANSPs), avionics for Airbus programmes, ground radar, and cyber-security. In the Gulf, Thales is deeply embedded as an ATM technology partner — its TopSky suite handles upper airspace across several GCC states — and as an avionics supplier to Emirates, Etihad, Qatar and Saudia. It also provides biometric identity technologies through its former Gemalto business, which underpin parts of Emirates' and Qatar Airways' digital identity offers.
