The orchestration layer that runs an airport day-to-day. An Airport Operational Database (AODB) holds the single source of flight truth; a Resource Management System (RMS) allocates gates, stands, check-in desks and belts; Flight Information Display (FIDS) drives every screen; and Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) and the wider Airport Operating System (AOS) tie airlines, ground handlers, ATC and the baggage system into one live picture with billing and digital-twin layers. Operators buy this as a multi-year programme with data-residency and high-availability demands, not as a one-off product.

A sprawling 1980s-era masterplan set in desert pink sandstone, RUH was designed by HOK when Riyadh was still a secondary capital. Four decades later, the city has outgrown it. Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 now share the load as traffic hit 37.2 million in 2024, and new carrier Riyadh Air prepares to launch before the airport itself is eclipsed by King Salman International just across town.
