Cargo & Baggage Loaders, Belt Loaders & Dollies installations at King Khalid International Airport (RUH)

This is the hardware that moves freight, ULDs and bags between the terminal and the aircraft hold: high-deck main-deck and lower-deck container/pallet loaders, belt loaders for bulk-hold narrowbodies, telescopic rollertrack conveyors that extend into the hold to cut handler injuries, and the dollies, carts and trailers that form the apron train. Buyers specify by deck height, lift capacity, ULD type compatibility (LD3, PMC) and, increasingly, electric drivetrain. Ground handlers and cargo carriers procure these in volume, and reliability under high-frequency turnarounds is the dominant selection driver.

A sprawling 1980s-era masterplan set in desert pink sandstone, RUH was designed by HOK when Riyadh was still a secondary capital. Four decades later, the city has outgrown it. Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 now share the load as traffic hit 37.2 million in 2024, and new carrier Riyadh Air prepares to launch before the airport itself is eclipsed by King Salman International just across town.
