The imaging core of the checkpoint: Standard-3 computed-tomography (CT) scanners for cabin bags, inline hold-baggage explosive-detection systems (EDS), dual-view X-ray for oversized and break-bulk items, and high-energy cargo and vehicle X-ray portals. Each model must sit on the current ECAC, TSA or STAC qualified list before an airport can deploy it, and refresh cycles run 8-10 years driven by threat evolution and re-certification. Buyers compare detection performance, throughput, false-alarm rate and retrofit fit against an existing HI-SCAN, ClearScan or RTT fleet. Calibration test pieces and radiation shielding sit alongside the scanners as part of the same procurement.
