Respondol ATF 3x6% is a synthetic, alcohol-resistant fluorine-free (AR-FF) foam concentrate formulated to tackle the widest range of flammable liquid hazards from a single product. It operates at 3% on hydrocarbon fuels (gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene, naphtha) and at 6% on polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, acetates, ethers) where the polymer component of the foam blanket must resist dissolution by water-miscible fuels. This is the higher-concentrate polar-solvent variant within the Respondol ATF range; buyers select it over the 3x3 variant when their risk profile includes large-volume polar solvent tanks or chemical intermediates that demand the additional blanket stability the 6% rate delivers.

Certified to EN1568:2008 Parts 3 and 4 on all fuels and all water types, and approved to UL162 7th Edition, Lastfire, and IMO MSC.1/Circ.1312, the product covers both aviation industry fixed-system requirements and marine terminal applications. The foam blanket is vapour-suppressing on unignited spills and can be applied as a Class A wetting agent on wood, paper, and tyre fires. Low viscosity facilitates easy induction through both portable proportioners and large fixed in-line systems without flow-compensation adjustments.

A shelf life of at least 10 years under recommended storage conditions (maximum continuous temperature 49 °C) makes it cost-effective for stockpiling at remote or infrequently-used airport fire stations, including the fuel farms and into-plane fuelling stations common across GCC airport infrastructure where storage temperatures regularly reach desert-summer extremes.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Fuel terminal and refinery fire systems managing both aviation kerosene and polar solvent inventories
  • Airport hangar deluge systems where both hydrocarbon fuels and maintenance chemicals (MEK, IPA) are stored
  • Marine terminal fire suppression requiring IMO MSC.1/Circ.1312 certified foam
  • Facilities converting from alcohol-resistant AFFF to a fluorine-free equivalent without compromising polar-solvent performance
  • Remote or desert-climate fire stations requiring long-shelf-life stock capable of tolerating elevated storage temperatures
