The AIS 2000/4500/PWD250 is a multipurpose water-foam-powder fire-fighting vehicle on a Scania P500 B4×4HZ chassis, specifically engineered to serve dual duty: as an industrial autopompa for refineries and fuel depots, and as a Category-compliant crash tender for smaller airports and airstrips. The design makes a deliberate trade-off — the water tank is kept compact at 2,000 litres while the foam concentrate tank is enlarged to 4,500 litres, giving the vehicle a foam-attack endurance profile suited to hydrocarbon fires where foam concentration is the limiting factor rather than bulk water. The proportioning system is a balanced-pressure type with individual line injection, capable of drawing supply from either an atmospheric source (onboard tank) or a pressurised hydrant — a dual-feed capability unusual in this weight class. The Chinetti 2T-5012 pump delivers 4,500 lpm at 12 bar; the roof-mounted Chinetti MCO5 monitor provides 3,000 lpm with electro-hydraulic remote control from the cab and by radio. A 250 kg DCP system is fitted with a twin-agent hose reel (water/foam plus powder simultaneously). The vehicle meets ICAO performance requirements: 0–80 km/h in under 25 seconds, maximum speed 115 km/h, pump-and-roll capability, single tyres front and rear (395/85 R20), and all ICAO ancillary accessories. For procurement teams covering remote industrial airstrips, logistics hub airfields, or combined fuel-terminal/apron operations in the GCC, this vehicle eliminates the need for two separate appliances.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Primary ARFF appliance at small airports, airstrips, and private/charter terminals where a single vehicle must meet ICAO requirements
  • Dual-site coverage of combined fuel depot and adjacent apron operations
  • Hydrocarbon fire suppression at refineries, aviation fuel storage terminals, and offshore logistics bases
  • Remote industrial airfields in GCC upstream oil and gas regions requiring one vehicle to cover two risk profiles
  • Hydrant-fed foam attack where pressurised water supply is available but onboard water reserve must be conserved for rescue use
  • Procurement scenarios where operator seeks ICAO compliance without the capital and operating cost of a dedicated large crash tender
